Walking and toileting your fur baby prior to your groom, is not only highly appreciated, but also beneficial for your pup as it lets out that extra energy and leaves them more relaxed to fully enjoy their pamper session.

Also, please ensure that there is suitable parking for the duration of your appointment. This includes on-street parking and/or drive-way access, and easy access to an appropriate outdoor water tap and electrical point. 

Grooming is complicated and every dog is unique and has individual needs! To try to simplify things, I start with a base price as a quote for an individual breed, that then increases based on a number of factors, such as:

COAT: Is the dog's coat in good condition or is it heavily matted? The Prefurred Groomer will never put the dollar before the dog, and a heavily matted coat will never be brushed out, only shaved, so your pup can have a fresh start. Clipping and scissoring through mats requires skill and takes a toll on groomers’ tools, therefore a charge is incurred 

SIZE: Is your pooch the size of a toy poodle or a Great Dane?  A larger dog requires more product, drying time, and grooming time, therefore a higher price is charged.  

TEMPERAMENT: Not all dogs like being groomed. Difficult dogs do require more time and skill and quite often more staff to manage the groom. All of these things need to be charged for.  

Unfortunately not. Due to policies, insurance regulations, and your pets health and safety, no one is allowed in the mobile grooming salon whilst a pet is being cared for. 

To answer this there are many things to consider; the dog's breed, the condition of the coat, the lifestyle of the dog, the length you would like to keep your pooch's hair, and how much at-home maintenance you are willing to put in.

However, as a rough guide:

- Short haired dogs should be groomed about once a month.

- Long haired dogs which require clipping, should be clipped every six to eight weeks, with in-between clip visits (Tidy Up) every three to four weeks to maintain the condition of the coat.

Recommendations on how often you're pup should be groomed, can be discussed after your booking.

Fear-Free Grooming services create a calm environment, utilizing gentle techniques and personalized care to ensure your pet's comfort and well-being throughout the grooming experience. The goal of Fear Free Grooming is to help your pet feel as calm and comfortable as possible. This is achieved through a combination of reward-based training and desensitization.

You'll receive a text reminder the day before your appointment as a courtesy. You MUST respond to the reminder message to confirm you are attending, otherwise your booking will be cancelled. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible, a minimum of 24 hours before the appointment. 

Failure to cancel 24 hours prior, and/or failure to show up for your appointment will incur a fee of 50% of the service price. In order to secure a future appointment, it is necessary for this fee to be paid on the day of the appointment. 

Payment can be arranged either over the phone or via an invoice. For more information, please refer to our cancellation and no-show policy here.

Extra charges will be added to the service price in the following situations:

FLEAS:  If a dog presents with fleas, the owner will be given the option of immediate treatment with a Capstar (+$20) and a flea rinse shampoo (+$20) OR an extra $65 cleaning and sterilization fee will be added to the groom.    

MATTING: Grooming prices for a matted dog starts at $100 per hour - or $25 per 15min. You will also need to sign a waiver prioir to admitting your dog to the salon. 

AGGRESSIVE DOGS: If your dog can be handled safely with a muzzle, I'm willing to accomodate your dog. However, if your dog's aggression becomes unmanageable  and too unsafe for both myself and your dog to continue, then the appointment will have to end. Extra charges for this will be made at our discretion.

MEDICATED / SPECIALISED SHAMPOOS & TREATMENTS: For small and medium dogs add $5, for large and extra large dogs add $10 to the service price.
